At EDM Intelligent Solutions, our high-resolution 3D scans of piece parts allow for form measurement down to the µm scale. With our 3D Metrology Services we’re able to offer our customers in-depth, non-contact measurements of almost any shape, size, and form. Below is an example of a high-resolution 3D mesh created from a scan of an ultra precision molded part used in electronics. The creation of 2D Profiles through the scanned 3D surface allows our team to inspect part form aspects including radii, angles, slot width, height steps, diameter, circularity/cylindricity and more. The 3D scan, automated mesh, and subsequent measurements conducted on this part were made possible using our MVi5 3D Metrology Center.
